  5.   1.0  added many features to a basic door I had on my bbs
  6.        so that other could use it.
  7.  
  8.   1.10 Fixed the No graphics calls bug.  Added the ability
  9.        of individual user disabiling LogIn.  Added 3 more
  10.        user definable text lines in MainInfo.txt file. 
  11.        So noe at 5.  DNInfo.txt still at 7 lines.

  13.   1.20 Fixed CTS detect, it NOW works!  Also fixed the user
  14.        defined key, it made the main menu jump to the download
  15.        menu if the user defined key was NOT defined, (ie. the sysop
  16.        left the last 4 lines of the config file blank).  If you
  17.        leave it blank, fine, if you define a key then that's fine too,
  18.        because it works either way now.  Also fix some other little
  19.        things.  Look for new & better updates in the future.
  20.        Fixed the DSZ so that it will work on both Comm 1 & 2.

  22.   1.30 Fix a few more bugs & added RIP graphics support.
  23.        (*note) that this program only supports com1 & 2 and no
  24.        than a 14.4 modem.

  26.   1.3C SysOps were calling me and telling me that I forgot to include
  27.        the ICSETUP.EXE file in my zip file.  I here now.   Sorry!

  29.   1.40 YES! No the Scan last time on Date function works.  No you can
  30.        have IconUpDater Default to scan and compare the last time on
  31.        date (for the user) and the date you last updated you icons.
  32.        See Sysop text for more info!  You can now hit Return and/or
  33.       "C" to continue to the BBS.

  35.   1.4B Now you have the option to have IconUpDater write to your
  36.        Wildcat's activity log.  Change a few things. And fixed a 
  37.        couple of bugs.

  39.   1.50 Now a keyed version. Now Reads WCNODEIC for Multi-Line BBS
  40.        Wildcat software.  Sysop now has the option to FORCE his
  41.        Optional FILE on callers.  Changed the DNICON.CFG file around.
  42.        Added a "Re-loading BBS" when door is finished, so callers
  43.        do not freakout while waiting for Wildcat to swap back in.
  44.  
  45.   1.60 Added better KEY security.  Added another definable menu option.
  46.        Added the ability to limit access to various menu options.
  47.        Changed the manin menu so that you can have 4 line of text
  48.        in your MAININFO.TXT file.

  50.   1.6c Fixed some major bugs.  Forced file and security level limiting
  51.        were read in wrong.  I think that's it.

  53.   1.6e Oops!  For got to allow Local Logins with the Forced option set on
  54.        #2, so that it did not lock in the sysop. That is NOW Fixed!
  55.        Made some other minor changes while I was at it.  Hopefully this
  56.        should be it until a major upgrade.  PLEASE let me know if you
  57.        run across any problems.  I can't make a great program without
  58.        some input.

  60.   1.6f Fix a small bug. Did not release to WC HQ BBS.

  65.   1.70 Well I switch to a new internal modem and IconUpDater started
  66.        dropping carrier on me when I hit "C".  So I changed it to
  67.        Hit Return.  Now works fine.  Please call me if you detect bugs.

  69.   1.8b The "b" means beta release.  Well I was wrong, 1.70 was still 
  70.        dropping carrier with my new internal modem.  So I went ahead
  71.        an re-vamped IconUpDater.  It now supports coms 1 thru 4 &
  72.        IRQs 1 thru 15.  Since I got this version working with my new
  73.        internal modem and it was tested on the external SupraFax, it
  74.        should work with any modem. This version should Fix all problems
  75.        for those who have been experiencing problems.  SO please give
  76.        this program another try.  See future text.

  78.   1.85 Fixed the Button thing when you do not define a menu option. Also
  79.        added the ability for you to create your own Info RIP graphics
  80.        screen.  That file has to be "RIPINFO.RIP".

  82.   1.87 A few little Bug fixes.  Major change on ICSETUP support Program.
  83.        Totally re-wrote it, now you can edit and create DNICON.CFG with
  84.        its easy-to-use menu driven setup.

  86.   1.88 IconUpDater was not recognizing single user names, like "Ryan",
  87.        and it was erroring out.  It would only take full names like
  88.        "Ryan Andersen".   This problem (bug) has been fixed.

  90.   2.00 MAJOR UPGRADE!  This will probably bring some bugs...so let me
  91.        know what you find. 
  92.        Fixed the problem with QModem Pro callers.  Shouldn't send
  93.        & print RIPscript, it should now be graphics.  Changed MENU
  94.        structure.  You can now make you own menu's on the REGISTERED
  95.        version; see SysOp.DOC for more info.  Added a better Auto Scan
  96.        Update... it uses the RIPscript RIP_FILE_QUERY.  This will only
  97.        work remotely with RIPterm or QMpro.  It seems like it's working
  98.        okay.
  99.        Changed ICSETUP... but did not add any more lines. Single line users
  100.        will not have to change their config file.  But BIG change for the
  101.        Multi line SysOps.  IconUpDater read in DNICON.CFG differently for 
  102.        multi line. RUN ICSETUP.EXE and select #3 on the Config menu for
  103.        more INFO! With this ICSETUP change comes the Multiline sysop's
  104.        favorite, multi-config files, and in one dir, and IconUpDater
  105.        knows which one to run, because it reads in %WCNODEID%.  You'll
  106.        understand once you run ICSETUP.  It's easy.
  107.        Clean alot of the code.  Beware if a caller goes into IconUpdater
  108.        then does a Auto Scan Icon UpDate, then come back to IconUpDater,
  109.        and last, that caller drops carrier; IconUpDater MAY Re-boot your
  110.        computer, depending on your memory cap.  
  111.        Heck I did so much to it, I can remember everything.  Remember,
  112.        just call me if oyu have questions or comments.  Oh yea, the new
  113.        file you see, ICFILE.EXE is my RIP_FILE_QUERY program, DO NOT
  114.        worry about it though; IconUpDater takes care of it!!    9/20/93

  116.   2.01 Well thanks to a couple of Registered users, 2 bugs have been
  117.        found and quickly fixed.  Local Down no works.  And the Overflow
  118.        Errer #6 from when locked baudrates above 19200 were enter into
  119.        DNICON.CFG are now fix.  I also for got to included Documentation.

  122.   2.02 Multi-Line BBS sysop could not log on locally because it was looking
  123.        for DNICON#.CFG... so now I just look for the DNICON.CFG.

  128.   2.10 This is it. I think I got all the bugs!  I was leaving IconUpDater
  129.        in memory while running ICFile.  This was cause the [A]uto Icon 
  130.        Scan D/L to think Icon were not on the users drive, when they did
  131.        really exist.  Also added some print statements fot the SysOp on
  132.        HOST end; they just notify the sysop of ICFILE processing fuctions.
  133.        Also added 1 more config line to DNICON.CFG,  which gives the SysOp
  134.        the option of forcing [A]uto Icon Scan Download on the callers.

  145.        upto 1500 users.  Added a ERROR.LOG... Remember to delete this
  146.        file if it gets to big.  Changed the temp.cfg name.  ICFILE now
  147.        unzips your ALLICONS archive and reads them in alphabetically.

  154.   2.34 Finally, one version for botth Wildcat and other BBS that can
  155.        produce a 52 line Wildcat 3.x type DOOR.SYS file.  
  156.        DOOR.SYS conversion programs did not seen to work.  Your BBS
  157.        must be able to create a DOOR.SYS that put the proper Last time
  158.        On date on line 17.   You can try converting one.  If it works
  159.        please let me know.                                               
  160.        Changed some on the screens in ICFILE.  Also added a choice to
  161.        download the ALL ICONS zip file if the number of icons not
  162.        found is greater 20.  If the BBS software is Wildcat and the
  163.        caller aborts, ICFILE will return to IconUpDater, all other
  164.        option combinations - ICFILE will return to the BBS.    9/26/93

  166.   2.35 In my ICFILE.EXE program I turn on a system timer, and I forgot
  167.        to turn it back off before exiting the program.  This was causing
  168.        some systems to crash. I now turn it off before exiting. 9/28/93

  170.   2.40 Added ICMAINT.EXE!  This file will automatically update your
  171.        ALLICONS.ZIP (ARJ) file and your DNICON.CFG. Meaning NO SysOp
  172.        maintenance!  Also removed "Path to UpDated Icons".  There was no
  173.        need for it, now that ICFILE is working.  So that config line is
  174.        now an "ANSI caller" Yea or No switch.  DO SEE SYSOP.TXT for more
  175.        info on these new features... also RE-RUN ICSETUP, for safety.
  176.        This should do it for awhile... A Mainrtenance free, file pushing,

  179.   2.41 Fix the securit thing.  If you Force a file on a user who did not
  180.        have a high enough security level to download it, they got trapped
  181.        in IconUpDater.  Now if you force a file on a user, IconUpDater
  182.        checks to make sure they have a high enough security level for it,
  183.        if not, then IconUpDater does not force that file on them. 
  184.        Also fixed ICMAINT.... it was not working with DOS's Sharing turned
  185.        on... now it does.                                      10/02/93

  187.   2.42 IconUpDater creates a temp DIR and temp config file for ICFILE to
  188.        do it's Icon Scan; but it was not creating separate config file
  189.        or temp DIRs for multi BBS, menaing that 2 or ore callers would
  190.        be sharing the same configs and DIRs.... not now... IconUpDater
  191.        not creates separate config file and temp DIRs base on the Node
  192.        number read from %wcnode%.... also menaing that if you are
  193.        running a NON-WIldcat Mutli-node BBS... this will not work...
  194.        and I would appreciate a call so we can get it to work.  I need
  195.        more input from Non-Wildcat sysop.  
  196.        Also change the display format in ICFILE.  Also increased the
  197.        CPS for 9600 and up callers on the Icon transfer...much faster now!
  198.        If a 2400 baud caller is online... then I turn off the Hardware
  199.        hand shaking.  This should fix the few Lockup problems I was getting
  200.        calls on. Also added the [A]uto Icon Scan Button to the Sysop's
  201.        screen when a RIP caller is online.  Also fix the double printing
  202.        of "IconUpDater (c)Copyright 1993...." at the bottom screen.
  203.        Fixed another forced problem... if you forced a file and the caller
  204.        selected [A]uto Icon Scan, it bypassed the Forced file... Now it
  205.        does not.  It check to make sure nothing is being forced before
  206.        foing and Auto Icon Scan.                               10/03/93

  208.   2.43 Change some code so IconUpDater could be interfaced with D/L Door.

  210.   2.44 Change some code so that the first Sysop definable menu option (#1)
  211.        can be set up to run any other file (door program)! Read the 
  212.        SYSOP.TXT file to find out how to do this.  NOW fully supports
  213.        Non-standard com set ups.  If you enter a non standard IRQ value
  214.        then enter the base address!  ANd fixed a missed spelled word

  217.   2.45 DSZ and GSZ were not getting the proper command line for Non-Standard
  218.        IRQs and coms...... should be fixed.                    10/10/93

  220.   2.46 I forgot to update ICMAINT.EXE when I updated Iconupd.exe! Fixed!
  221.        Also updated ICFILE... now if ICFILE/IconUpDater can NOT find
  222.        1 to 15 icons... it will automatically send the Icons to the user
  223.        one at a time.  If it can't find 16 to 2 lest then the total 
  224.        number of icons in your archive it will give the call a choice of
  225.        either Download all icons, continue one at a time, abort, (and just
  226.        added) ZIP (or ARJ) the icons the call does not have and send them
  227.        those.  Increase the # of bytes sent in DSZ & GSZ... to speed up
  228.        the process.  Also cut the RIP compatibility test to 2 seconds
  229.        instead of 4 seconds, so IconUpDater "Pops Up" faster at login.

  231.   2.47 Every EXE file has been upgrade in this version... to fix all the
  232.        little things... ICFILE.. the Auto Icon Scan now checks for the
  233.        existance and File Date of each ICON!  ICMAINT.exe has been upgraded
  234.        to match the change in the config file. ICSETUP.exe has had the
  235.        little bugs fixed.  ICONUPD.exe (IconUPdater) still does seems to
  236.        be working with Digiboard or special com setups for certian users,
  237.        I am working on this problem so everyone can enjoy the leisure of
  238.        using IconUpDater.  Added more detail to Userlog.txt file from
  239.        ICFILE.EXE... you'll see what I mean.

  242.   2.48 Now IconUpDater (and ICFILE) wite a log to the Activity log file.
  243.        I also added support for FOSSIL and DigiBoard, but has not been
  244.        fully tested.  For Fossil and Digi you must have SDPF.EXE in your
  245.        path.  This is a Transfer protocol writen by StreamLine Design,
  246.        and it is available for download from DUOnline if you do not have
  247.        it.  I added a ICMAINT Statistics screen for you; it pops up after
  248.        ICMAINT is run, to tell ya what's up with the your icons.  10/16/93

  250.   2.49 Fix some bugs that deal with IconUPDater working with DigiBoards.
  251.        Added 2 more config lines to DNICON.CFG, also added a 3rd Menu 
  252.        screen to ICSETUP.exe for these 2 new config lines.  One of these
  253.        new config lines ask for your Path to your Activity Log, so 
  254.        IconUpDater and write to it.  The other is for the maximum number
  255.        of Icons that a caller does not have before forcing single icon
  256.        sownload on them. Corrected some ICSETUP, ICFILE, ICMAINT problems.
  257.        Every EXE had been updated except convert.exe.           10/23/93

  259.   2.50 Due to the fact that ICFILE.exe (the Icon Scanning part of IconUpDater)
  260.        has continued to lock up 5 BBSes, I decided it was time for a rewrite!
  261.        So here it is. For ICFILE to work you MUST have the ICMAINT.CFG file
  262.        setup.  Therefore I included the ICMAINT.CFG in with the ICSETUP.exe
  263.        program.  So just re-RUN ICSETUP and make sure on ALL 3 menus, that
  264.        the information is EXACTLY correct.  For a complete over view of
  265.        how icfile now goes about to the icon scan see the sysop text....
  266.        also read the KEY.DOC file... I changed the KEY generator procedure.
  267.        I hope this one will work better for every one... I like it better.

  271.   2.51 Added a time function. It keep track of how long the user is in 
  272.        IconUpDater and when then user is finished and returns to WildCat,

  279.   2.52 Another Major rewrite.  Added the Space Saver option. Cleared

  283.        generator mainly so it is easier for you to call DUOnline get

  286.   2.60 Well everytime I get ready to release this sucker, I find 
  287.        another cool option to add to it.  Added another menu 
  288.        option, NOW 3 file or DOS hooks!  All new Interfaces...
  289.        you can NOW make you own ANSI and RIP screens with @-CODES!
  290.        See the @-Codes file. I add to sysop control buttons for when
  291.        you are forcing files or have high security levels set. They
  292.        are the NUM and CAPs lock keys.  See sections on new features.
  293.        Fixed the Multi-Line Non-Standard IRQ programs...well at least
  294.        I finaly got it working here on COM 3 w/IRQ 5.  You could
  295.        basically say this is a re-write also... at least it looks
  296.        alot different, code n' all.  Matter afact I have been working
  297.        on this for 4 straight days, and I can't quite remember
  298.        everything... but believe, you love it. This one deserved a
  299.        larger number than 2.53.  Oh yea.. I also added another                             
  300.        command key to the main menu, "*".  See MainMenu text for

  303.   2.61 Fixed some screen write problems in ICSETUP.exe, that had caused
  304.        a coupld of system to reboot.  Changed MAININFO.TXT to MAININFO.ANS
  305.        so you can add color.. Also added "@" code support to MainInfo.ANS.
  306.        See the MAININFO.ANS in the SCREENS.ZIP file for an example of
  307.        how to use it.  PLEASE READ SOME of the MANUAL, or you will not
  308.        unlease the true power and flexibility of IconUpDater.    12/7/93

  310.   2.62 Fixed a bug in ICMAINT.  If you ran it it was only re-writing
  311.        32 of the 39 line config file..oops!  This new version has
  312.        40 lines since I added one more option. ANd I made sure that 
  313.        ICMAINT.EXE reads and write all 40 lines. A couple of other 
  314.        twists here and there. The major add on is the abilty to
  315.        screen out callers and ONLY allowing RIP caller to get through
  316.        to your BBS.  Run ICMANUAL and see "Menu file Names" and
  317.        "Configs" sections... and also Re-Run ICSETUP and configure
  318.        line #40 to your preference.                              12/9/93

  320.   2.63 Some fixes.  Added the ability to Drop all callers except
  321.        RIP callers.  line #40 in the config, in ICSETUP, see the
  322.        section "Additional", the 3rd line "allow ONLY RIP callers"
  323.        set this to "N" if you want ANSI callers to be able to access

  326.   2.64 Some little cosmedic fixes.           12/12/93

  328.   2.65 Fixed the icon scan percentage complete BAR; it is much faster 
  329.        and it only draws one button per position. Added another support
  330.        program. This one is for your callers when they use the Space
  331.        Save (tm) option.  After it scans and finds old icons on their
  332.        drive, it will ask them if they want Space Save to send them
  333.        DELICONS.EXE file (about 40,000 K in size).  If they have it
  334.        sent to them, then they can quickly drop to DOS, run DELICONS,
  335.        which will read in the text file listing of old icons, then 
  336.        delete them, then it will delete the old icons list and itself.
  337.        I would like to eventually set this up in the Applications 
  338.        section in RIPterm to make it more automated.
  339.        I changed the DSZ and GSZ line parameters to turn off Hardware
  340.        Handshaking ot hopefully put a stop to the 2400 baud problems.
  341.        If this cause more problems then before PLEASE contact me ASAP.

  343.        Also fix the ALLOW only RIP callers. line #40 of the config
  344.        file.  If you had this set to yes, "Y", then IconUpDater
  345.        logged off ANSI callers, but allowed ASCII callers (it should
  346.        only allow RIP callers).  This has been corrected. If this option
  347.        is set to "Y", then all callers will be logged off your BBS except
  348.        callers using a RIPterminal Package.
  349.  
  350.        Now when you set the "Turn On Local Warning Sounds" to "Y" for
  351.        yes, ICSETUP.EXE will not play any sounds either. Before it
  352.        only turned off IconUpDater's sounds. Thxs MM of C-CAD-D.

  354.        Made some other internal changes to increase performance.

  356.   2.66 Ok... Fixed the TIME thing for those who run Wildcat.  It now
  357.        gives the proper time back to the user that he used up.  Also
  358.        trashed the idea of using the CAPS & NUM lock keys to change
  359.        the FORCED and SECURITY level status of the user.  I switch 
  360.        these keys to F1 & F2 respectively.  See MAIN MENU for more
  361.        information on these features.  Also have run in to times when
  362.        I quickly wanted to drop to DOS and add an icon to my ICONS
  363.        directory for a particular user who was online but already in
  364.        side IconUpDater... therefore I add a DROP to DOS... "F3".
  365.        And last, I added a Date Formater, so those running IconUpDater
  366.        outside the States can use the DD/MM/YY format.     02/10/94

  368.   2.67 Well I just felt the urge to add more to IconUpDater and keep
  369.        it on top as the best.  In this version I added a QModem Pro
  370.        detection routine. (see WHATSNEW.TXT).  I add a pop-up window
  371.        for the callers when you drop to DOS; it just says that where
  372.        you went.  If you are forcing ANSI caller to be logged off
  373.        your BBS, IconUpDater now writes it to your activity log (if
  374.        you run Wildcat).  This way you'll know who called but did not
  375.        get to the BBS.  I changed one of the @-codes to a PAUSE for 
  376.        when you make your own screens. (see "Menu File Names").
  377.        Now you can have more than one Information screen, like the
  378.        RIP one I have include with this version. It explains 
  379.        IconUpDater's option to the caller. If you use it MAKE SURE
  380.        you read the "Menu File names" section.   A fellow sysop gave 
  381.        me a utility for forcing Doors to display ANSI graphics when 
  382.        run under Desqview; there is a copy of it on DUOnline.  
  383.        I changed the "Info on RIP" button to "Information"; this way
  384.        it could be Information on any thing, such as the new RIPINFO
  385.        .RIP screen I included.  I also added the "+" key.  If you or
  386.        the caller selects this it will log them off.  It is not
  387.        dislpayed on the Main Menu, but it is outlined in the RIPINFO
  388.        .RIP file. You may add it yourself if needed.
